Appendix A - Notes
1. Janet
Irene BLAIR-1
Some of my information comes from personal knowledge
or Mom's Family Bible. Some of the information for the Blairs comes from the
Spradlin Branches. Some of the information for Williams-Yates comes from Karen's
Kentucky Heritage. The work in progress for the Whaley-McKinney branches is being
aided by Shirley Hauk and Allen Richmond via Shirley. Bear with me if you find
mistakes.
2. Levi,
Jr. BLAIR-2
BIOGRAPHY: Levi Jr. (Dad) loved to tell stories. Especially "Tall Tales" about Kentucky to his Grandchildren. He once told Barry that in Kentucky they grow hot dogs on trees and that they grow three feet long. Barry shared the story in kindergarten 'show and tell'.
DEATH: Dad died from throat cancer. He suffered from treatments for several months but the cancer was so advanced treatments did very little
to help. He decided to stop the treatments since they were only prolonging his
suffering. He is still greatly missed.
BIRTH: This was found in Johnson Co. Birth Index:
BLAIR, LEVI--WILLIAMS, EVYLN--B Date: 8/18/1926-Cert.No-39040--[There
was no date for filed. Dad always told us, and we always celebrated on Aug, 14.
JIS]
MARRIAGE: Deborah Puckett has marriage date as May
01, 1947. [I believe that this is the date they celebrated their anniversery,
but at some point in time a marriage license was found with the date of 20 Sep 1949.
I think Nancy is the one that found it]
4. Levi,
BLAIR-4
BIOGRAPHY: I didn't know Grandpa real well because
he was sick in bed for most of my growing up years. I do remember some about
before he got sick. When Grandma and Grandpa lived outside of Beaver they lived down the road from an old quarry and gravel
washer. Grandpa used to take Nancy and me for walks up to the quarry. Sometimes he let us ride his old horse while he led it around.
MIGRATED: Levi, Nancy, Levi Jr., and perhaps a couple
more of their children moved to Pike County, Ohio sometime in the 1940's.
MIGRATED: Levi Jr. was born in Kentucky and lived
there during his younger years. He also lived in Pike Co., OH; Columbus, OH;
Canal Winchester, OH; Frankfort, OH; Whitehouse, OH; Beaver, OH; Monclova, OH; and Clarksburg, OH. He also lived for short periods of time with children in Michigan.

Evaline WILLIAMS-5
Grandma was the kindest person that I ever knew. I don't think I ever heard her raise her voice though at times she had plenty of reason
to. She was a Baptist and didn't allow any card playing in her house. So they played cards in the yard. She wouldn't eat beef, "cows
was put here for milk".

I had some information on Grandma Nancy's family. Deborah Cantrell Puckett filled in a lot of blanks for me, especially dates, through
her research.
Debby's research included: Kentucky Birth Index; 1920 Fed. Census, Johnson Co., KY; Marriage Records, County Clerks Office, Johnson
Co., KY; Johnson Co., Kentucky Birth Records; Floyd Co., KY Marriage Records.
12. George
W. WHALEY-60
According to the 1880 census: George Whaley lived
in Liberty Twp., Jackson Co., Ohio. At the time he was 53, a wagon maker, his
parents were born in Virginia. His wife Lydia was 43 and they had five children,
my grandpa was the youngest of the five.
14. George

Obvious these children were from a prior marriage for George due to date of his marriage to Emma (March 2, 1879). *1910 Census shows that he was married twice.

Cannot locate George [or Roy/Royal] on 1920 index.
1880: Pike Co. Census lists George McKinney's age
as 27 which puts his birth in 1853 and shows birth place as VA. 1900 census shows
b Dec 1843. 1910 census shows age 66 equates to~1844. I assume age on 1880 census is incorrect.

in Village of Sharonville. Emma is also named in Jonathan Aldridge's Deed from
Ross Co., OH and is identified as his granddaughter.
